SF Giants remove jersey patch of their ill fated sponsor, Cruise

Oh boy, that was super cringey. Back on August 3, 2023, right before the key CPUC regulatory hearings, Cruise paid oodles of money to get a big ol’ patch on the Giants uniform. The Cruise Curse was born and the Giants baseball proficiency went into the toilet. But the Giants swore that they would keep wearing that patch until 2025.

Fortunately today, SFGate announced the end of the Cruise Curse. No more embarrassment of being tied to Cruise, no more selling out to a venal company, and no more those highly paid players wearing that hideous patch.
