Tesla Set Up for Epic Failure on October 10th

October 10th will soon be here, along with the “reveal” for the long waited robotaxi system. So it is time to look at what various people have been saying about the upcoming event. While some still believe the hype, it is clear that a significant number of analysts expect nothing more than a disappointing “launch party”. Oh, and the Tesla CIO just resigned. And they discontinued their least expensive vehicle. And their sales for the last quarter were not that great and will be down in total for 2024. 125,000 Teslas sitting unsold in inventory. And their fifth recall of the Cyberduck.

Things are rather grim so it is time for another hype event! More coverage after the event on October 10th.

Analyst says on CNBC: 3 separate vehicles to be announced: Robotaxi car; Robotaxi van; low-price car. Expecting no details, just a launch party. Looking for details on production of $25k model. This analyst will surely be disappointed when no actual details will be provided.

Tesla now has roughly 125,000 vehicles in inventory, or about 25 days worth of sales.  While this is not large compared to traditional manufacturers, it should be noted that until recently Tesla sold all cars immediately and almost no inventory. Also, keep in mind that they do not have traditional dealerships. So this number is quite problematic for Tesla.
