It’s fakery all the way down
You have likely heard of the expression it’s “turtles all the way down.” It is an expression of the problem of infinite regress. With Tesla it is now clear that the company is based on fakery, built on fakery, built on fakery ad nauseam. The value of Tesla is now based on robotaxis, which are based on “AI“, which is based on their Optimus “robots” which are actually just fancy puppets, which are based on toys, which in turn are just marketing hype. The fakery just never ends.
The latest fakery is the Optimus robot toys that are now “for sale”, as reported by Barrons.
Tesla ’s humanoid robot is finally here—if you downsize expectations just a bit. It’s a 7-inch-tall toy, not the life-size bot that CEO Elon Musk started talking about years ago.

Of course no one is surprised that Tesla is “selling” toys instead of actual Optimus “robots”, or even Optimus puppets. Tesla doesn’t have the technology to actually create humanoid robots, and the robots are a silly marketing idea in the first place, something that people don’t even want.

But the real kicker is that the Optimus toys cannot actually be bought! The website for the toys has always shown that they are not actually in stock. Gee, it is almost as if even the toy Optimus is just another Tesla marketing ploy, just some more fakery to support all their other fakery.

And now for some serious humor:
Deutsche Bank analyst Edison Yu wrote in a September note he expects the company to sell 1.5 million of the life-size bots by 2035.
